INSPIRE!
Do you need some extra encouragement and inspiration today to maintain your vegan or vegetarian path?
How do you respond to the "haters" and "Drama-Queens/Kings" that create havoc in your life as you lead your journey? Remember, Sister always says to lead this journey for you! Do not listen to the people who say you will not acquire sufficient protein or you will starve! Acquire ammunition by educating yourself. That’s the best line of defense! Read my and other's blogs, view documentary videos on vegetarianism/veganism, and the positive affects on the environment and animals by leading this lifestyle. Need more ammunition to combat the protein question? Review my 10-4-11 post entitled
"We only need 6% protein a day" which debunks the protein myth of more...more....more...protein where meat eaters receive too much protein which ends up causing diseases. The "meat in moderation" statement is a Meat-Poultry-Fish-Dairy marketing tool and not proven. Do not listen to that false statement. The only diet that has been scientifically proven to prevent, treat, reverse, and cure some diseases is a vegetarian and more so a vegan lifestyle.I found this great story on Vegan Soapbox (Keeping your Heart on your sleeve) about The Happy Herbivore (link here for The Happy Herbivore's story on why she no longer considers herself a vegan) who no longer considers herself a vegan not because of the comments by people who are against a plant based lifestyle, but because of a small group of vegans who believe that they must be the” vegan police. I found this story sad and it angers. I also address this same situation in my upcoming book, Sister Vegetarian's 31 Days of Drama-Free Vegetarian and Vegan Living , where I use this same situation as an empowering tool for you and indicate that we must continue to have strong minds, and realize that it is not us who must change. The ones who must change are those who feel that they must control others - we are all a family of vegetarians and vegans...looking to heal ourselves, the environment, fight for animal rights, and create social justice. We are all one family.
Remember, I am a vegan and choose to continue to call myself Sister Vegetarian because I believe that as a family, we need to come together and take a stand for and against the issues that became a catalyst for us in becoming a vegetarian or vegan. We do not need to stand against each other, but stand with one another as vegetarians and vegans. Let The Happy Herbivore's story give you inspiration to do not quit...do not listen to the "haters" and the "drama queens/kings." Get out of your own way and stop doubting yourself. You know who and whom you are as a vegetarian or vegan. Stand and be proud! Claim your VICTORY today!
